Some New VA / Agent Orange Information
Our friend Helmut Haberl sent me a note to let me know that the VA maintains a list of U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships associated with military service in Vietnam and possible exposure to Agent Orange based on military records. You can find that list at http://www.publichealth.va.gov/exposures/agentorange/shiplist/index.asp. You may know of someone who served in the Navy or Coast Guard in Vietnam who may have been exposed to Agent Orange; let them know that they also are eligible to receive compensation if they have suffered one or more of the 15 presumed Agent Orange-related diseases. That list can be found at http://www.publichealth.va.gov/exposures/agentorange/diseases.asp.
Also, I didn’t know that there is also a dependent allowance available to those with 30% or more disability (as rated by the VA). You can see some info about this at http://www.military.com/benefits/content/veterans-health-care/va-disability-compensation-rates.html, but be sure to check with your National Service Officer for details.

The Adventure: Post-Op PSA Results
Whew! It’s been a journey of several months dealing with prostate cancer, culminating in having a blood draw on Monday, March 12 to be tested for my post-op prostate specific antigen (PSA) level. After a day of nail-biting waiting, the lab results came through around 6:30 Tuesday evening.
I was actually on the phone with Karin when I got the email. Click, click, and another click of the mouse and I was reading the lab report. The news was good, very good indeed! My PSA level was 0.05 (out of standard range of 0.0 to 4.0)!
The surgery was successful; the Lord has been very gracious to Karin and me! There is no doubt that he has been in the middle of this entire saga from the start, way back to my first day in the Army and even before then. We are so grateful!
I have not received notice from the Veterans Affairs Department regarding approval of my claim for special monthly compensation for this presumed Agent Orange-related disease, but that, too, is in God’s hands and his good timing. I encourage you to investigate any compensation for which you may be eligible because of your service in Vietnam. There are fifteen diseases that are presumed to be Agent Orange-related. Click here to see complete list of these diseases.

How I Became A Pilot
One of the questions from the career placement test given applicants for a military commission.
"Rearrange the letters P N E S I to spell out an important part of human body that is more useful when erect!"
Those who spell spine become doctors...the rest go to flight school...
And then…………
Go to the link below to see Bucky Buchanan’s story about a very eventful mission he flew with MAJ Marc Poe. Bucky sent this to me around 2001 and it was on the web for a while; I know many of you haven’t seen it before. Thanks again Bucky for sending this to us!

Youtube Video of a GANG Mohawk
I found this online today and thought I'd share it all with you. There is a little misinformation in this guy's narration, and I wouldn't want to fly with him if his hands are as shakey as the video he took, but all in all it is a good closeup picture of fully restored Mohawk. Just click on the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3bGLS-IgG0.

The 225th's Hawks
Some time ago my iMac's hard drive crashed )can you believe it!?) and with it my video of our Mohawks set to the music of the Beach Boys. Well, yesterday I took about 3 hours and rebuilt it, adding a couple of new shots that I had not had previously. Take a look and let me know what you think.
